ChatGPT Ads Approval Policy: A Pre-Submission Checklist

What ChatGPT Ads review covers

ChatGPT Ads approval is not just a check of the headline. OpenAI’s current Ad Policies describe review of the advertiser, creative and destination page, along with placement safeguards. OpenAI can reject, restrict or remove an ad or advertiser. A checklist can reduce avoidable inconsistencies; it cannot guarantee approval.

The policies checked on 15 October 2026 describe an early-stage program with categories that may be supported, categories that require manual or market-specific review, and disallowed content. The published policy says the scope can evolve. Philippine advertisers should not infer that a category permitted in another country or for another advertiser is automatically eligible in the Philippines.

Pre-submission checklist

  1. Verify the advertiser identity. Make the account, ownership, business name and affiliation accurate. Do not imply an OpenAI relationship or use a trademark or logo without rights.

  2. Check product and market eligibility. Compare the actual product/service and target market with the current policy. If your category is regulated, sensitive, restricted or unclear, get the applicable platform guidance before committing media spend.

  3. Substantiate each material claim. Keep records for price, availability, credentials, guarantees, customer results, comparisons and endorsements. Remove any claim that the advertiser cannot document.

  4. Review the complete creative. Check headline, copy, image, logo, offer, disclosure and destination together. Avoid visual or wording that could make an ad appear to be part of ChatGPT or an official OpenAI message.

  5. Make the landing page consistent. The destination should be accessible, describe the advertised offer accurately and not introduce prohibited or conflicting content. The page should make eligibility, terms and the next action clear.

  6. Confirm the campaign settings. Verify objective, countries, platform selections, dates, budget, billing and the intended measurement event.

  7. Keep an approval record. Record the submitted version, review status, reason for any rejection, changes made and the official appeal or support response.

If an ad is rejected

Read the status message in Ads Manager and compare it to the current policy. Check both the ad assets and the landing page, because a compliant-looking creative can still point to a destination that creates a policy problem. Correct the specific issue and resubmit if the platform allows. If the rejection appears mistaken, use OpenAI’s review/support route and include the ad title, copy, destination URL and rejection notice. An agency can help organize that evidence but cannot overturn OpenAI’s decision.

giteroute’s role is to help the advertiser prepare a consistent campaign and page, check claims and scope, and document the submission. It is an independent service provider, not an OpenAI Official Partner or reseller. No ad approval, placement, reach, click or lead is guaranteed.
